GET INVOLVED !

Here's how you can get involved.

Pay Us A Visit!

Come and visit with the gorillas in the Kahuzi-Biega National Park, and afterwards we will take you on a tour of our community projects in the area.  You can dance with the local people, visit the schools, and maybe even plant a tree in honour of your visit.

If you'd like to make a longer trip to our continent, Wild Frontiers Adventure Travel, who are based in London, will be happy to help you.

There really is nothing quite like staring into the eyes of a silverback gorilla!

Plant Trees With Us!

Our Tree Planting Project is our 'flagship' project.  Since 1993 we have planted over 4 million trees in the area.  Tree planting not only provides sustainable resources which save the rainforest from exploitation, it also provides jobs and income, and as well as sequestering carbon, the trees themselves help guard against soil erosion and flooding in the rainy season.

We now aim to plant ten trees for each one which is cut and used, thus growing our 'buffer zone' between the Park and the communities.

The addition of fruit trees in our planting schemes will provide fresh, nutritious food for years to come.

Some of our project partners plant trees to offset their carbon footprint, but others just pay us to plant trees because they know it has an important role to play in our fight against climate change.

If you are interested in planting trees with The Pole Pole Foundation, please get in touch.  Thank you!

Become A Project Partner

Our Project Partners give us a predictable income which means we can plan ahead and manage our budget more easily. Whilst we are eternally grateful for one-off donations, having regular income is key to our future success.

Project Partners sometimes use the projects that they fund with us to offset carbon, but also some are happy to fund projects which are not overtly carbon-negative because they realise that everything we do is to conserve the pristine rainforest habitat of the gorillas and so, in that respect, is carbon sink protective.

We have projects in the pipeline, just waiting for partners, so if you think that you might be able to join us in our mission, please get in touch.  We look forward to working with you.

Buy Our Products

Our artisans in the DRC create beautiful things.  We have trained former poachers to carve wooden souvenirs, sew clothes, bags, placemats and many other things.  If you would like to stock our range of products, or have something which you would like us to make for you, please get in touch to discuss how we can make this happen.

Can We Grow Together?

We have a skilled workforce who can be at your disposal to grow many things - we have fertile soil and no shortage of willing workers.  Often crops which are too labour-intensive to be grown in the first world can be successfully grown in our area.  Agro-forestry (growing 'crops' between the trees) is something which we would like to explore more.  Be that flower heads for the natural beauty industry, or something else that you need.

Please get in touch to see how we might help.

Follow Us!

It may seem a simple thing to do but following us on our social media platforms really helps.  The more followers we have, the more attractive we become to potential partners.

So don't underestimate the power of your click!

Follow, share and engage.  We look forward to chatting.
